ARTIST SUBMISSIONS

The Listening Room Concert Series is open to new artists wishing to submit for consideration on these, and other shows.

At this time point in the eleven year history of the series, a high number of artist inquiries come in annually for the 72 available spots each year in the Southern California series alone, not to mention the European submissions, so follow up messages are unfortunately not guaranteed to be returned rapidly. Average response time is four to six weeks from receipt of postal submission - faster for web based submissions.

Selection is based on an openly subjective and arbitrary basis by me as the founder/producer, with a focus on development of craft and performance ability. Since this is a song focused series, elaborate recordings are truly not necessary for submissions. A live vocal with accompaniment on cassette or CD will serve you well here.

If sending by post, please send only a cassette or CD and cover letter or note with brief, pertinent bio info (press quotes, gig itinerary, discography, special recognition, etc.) Please save me time, you money, and the Earths' environment unnecessary strain by not sending other pr materials which will only be tossed out (or recycled if possible) due to time and space considerations (Glossy photos, videos, media packages, review copies, etc.)

Private consultations for songwriters at all career and developmental levels are now available, on both the business and craft of songwriting, from lyric review and song structure, to networking, touring and promotional campaign development. Sessions are available at the rate of $75. per hour, with a one hour minimum in the Los Angeles area (one hour if you come to me).

My past experience working with writers includes six years on staff of the National Academy of Songwriters, (two as C.E.O.), eight years staff A&R of TAXI, eight years of seminar and consulting work with European songwriters through the the Scandanavian artists unions and music conservatories, as well an active recording, performing and co-writing career with several cuts in the past few years, and over twenty years practical industry experience as a songwriter, presenter, recording artist and touring performer.

Past clients include many of today's brightest new voices, as well those just starting out. Give yourself the benefit of a private, personal couch to help you determine where you are, and where you want to go.
